I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day! I am a weekend late on posting this but hey, when you have a baby it's hard to remember things. Shane had to work Saturday until 12 and after he got off we went to a few yard sales. This was my second Mother's Day with Maddison! Last year Shane  took me out to eat at The Hungry Farmer. If you haven't eaten there and you are local to the Hillsville/Fancy Gap/ Cana/ Mount Airy area you need to make dinner plans there ASAP and by that I mean tonight haha! This year we didn't do anything particularly special we just relaxed at the house.

We have a tiny front porch area and instead of  going out to eat we decided to use that money for a table and some chairs because we love grilling out during the summer! Maddy even has her own little chair and it is the cutest thing! 

The fact that God thinks I am good enough to be her mama is something I am thankful for every second of the day! I don't think I will ever be a good enough mother to deserve her, she is the sweetest little girl!

I didn't want the flowers Maddy (dada) got me to go to waste so we did a milk bath!!  Here are a few more photos for Mother's Day! 

Mother's Day is tomorrow! If you need a quick last minute gift these Tea Towels are so cute and so easy to make! We made these for Maddy's Grandmas and of course I had to make one for me to keep.

White Dish Towels

Paint

Cardboard

Paintbrush

Toilet Paper Cardboard Roll

I highly recommend to just strip your child down to just his/her diaper that way you have a minimal mess to clean up. Also, some wipes would have been really handy, but I always end up doing things the hard way haha! 

When it came time to make the leaves for the flower, we used the inside tube of a roll of toilet paper. We squeezed it to make an oval shape and stamped it on the towel and filled it in with our paintbrush after. I don't know if you can tell but Maddy had so much fun making these!

We recently were able to take a trip back home to Virginia! It was a short one, only a day and a half, but it was so needed! We have moved twice since Maddy was four months old. The first time was to Grundy which was only a little over two hours from where we were living at the time and then back in December Shane got a new job and we moved to Ohio. 

Maddison has always been an angel baby when it comes to traveling so that part of our trip was easy. When you are five hours and a couple of states away from all of your family you naturally want to see them anytime you get the chance so on our longest day in town we squeezed in as much family time that we could fit in a twelve hour period. All day long we went from house, to house, to house. Maddy napped between houses for a few minutes here and there but never got a full nap so we had a really tired baby and one that was out of her normal environment. It took Maddy a few minutes to warm up to each place we visited but anytime anyone held her she screamed and by that I mean you would think that someone was really hurting her. This is one of the very few decent photos I was able to take and this was after a solid hour of my Grandma trying to hold her. We were really taken by surprise because she has never been shy and we visited for Christmas and she loved on everyone. Is this a stage they go through? 

When we decided to move the biggest worry we had was Maddy missing out on time with our families. We have Great grandparents, Grandma, Nana, Gigi, Aunties, Uncles, Paw Paws, Cousins, and so many friends that we consider family and that we love so much. How does everyone else that is far from family make distance work? How do you make sure your  little one knows her family? I would love some tips!

Someone got this little lamb for Maddison before she was born. I would always put it near her when she was playing in hopes of her getting attached to it, because I think these little lovies are just so cute, but it never happened. Today she finally takes an interest in it and comes running into the room where I am and carries it over to me. I know I'm not the only one who needs reminders and this little lamb is just that-a reminder to me that I constantly need to be drawing closer to my Shepherd. On the days where I feel like the world is against me, because I've had a few of those lately, and the days where I feel like I'm on top of the world, because those are the days where I really need another reminder of 

1 John 2:15-17. Those are the days where it's so easy to get caught up in the things of this world and just day to day life and I let myself inch further and further away from Him. So whoever got this for Maddy, thank you! You never know when something, even as tiny as this little lovie, will be a big blessing to someone.
